ArtsThread Profile.

Hello everyone! :)
It's been a really long time since I've last written anything on the blog... I have to apologize, I have been so busy during my last year of university that I did not have any spare time to work on new posts.
I am back now!! I won't be able to post too often but I promise I will try my best :)

First of all, I wanted to introduce you guys to my ArtsThread profile. ArtsThread is a great website designed to connect graduates, students, universities and industry within several fields of design.
It is a user-friendly platform, very useful to showcase your work - portfolios, projects, photo shoots/videos/movies. It is easily accessible thanks to its availability online, and it allows you to upload many projects to keep your profile as up to date and as competitive as possible.
For anyone interested in some of my Graduate Collection portfolio work, you can find it here .

In my next post I will show you guys some of the work I have been doing for my final graduate collection and the amazing experience I have had during Graduate Fashion Week :)

Does any of you guys have an ArtsThread profile? Do you find it helpful/useful in keeping connected with the industry?

Until next time,
x, Val.

Final Menswear Lineup - Refined Freedom.

Hey guys!
So I just came back from Paris last Sunday…it was amazing!! I have so much to tell you and most of all - as it always works better for me - show you through pictures I've taken during my journey. The trip to Paris lasted just three days and two nights, but it was magical and I'll write a whole post about because it definitely deserves its own space in this blog. In the meantime, take a look at my final Menswear Collection for the Tailoring Project I'e talked so much about here.
I'm posting the tailoring project material slowly because it was quite a long one and we had many different assessment components so to show you guys better and explain everything properly I'm just posting bits of everything :)
I made this lineup drawing the figures and clothes by hand, then scanned it in my computer and, after scanning all the fabrics I wanted to use, I added them to the lineup and made a few adjustments on Illustrator.
Hope you'll enjoy and let me know what you think about it - or if you have any question in particular!

Don't forget to leave a comment and tell me your opinion about this :)

Bloglovin!

So today I joined Bloglovin to keep up with the latest posts from my favourite blogs. I think it's a pretty useful platform for bloggers and it's very easy to use - which makes it incredibly popular.
When I went to the Widgets page to look for a nice "like" button to add to my blog, I noticed there were some pretty cool designs available (the three above are the Artist Icons). In the end I chose the first one on the left cause I really like the style in which it is drawn and I feel like it best represents my blog - direct, minimalistic and original.

Do any of you have a blog of their own and have a Bloglovin profile? If yes, leave me your links in the comment section below so I can check your blogs out!

Come Clothes is finally here.

Hello everyone!
So, as you may have noticed I have finally started my adventure into the intriguing world of blogging.
As probably many of you, I've always been very keen on fashion and the industry in general. Both the hidden side - so the designing process, the pattern making and production of a garment - and the "public" side of fashion have always fascinated me. Last September I started my BA course in Fashion Design at UCA (University for the Creative Arts), in the Uk, and now I feel like I have something to say...and what's  better way to express oneself than keeping a blog?
I am not sure I am going to be like other fashion bloggers; still I hope my topics are going to be interesting for you.
Being a fashion design student, I will not just write posts about the latest catwalk shows (and some reviews as well), but I will also be able to post tutorials (how to: sketch, draw fashion illustrations, research for inspiration on a certain topic, sew, etc), posts about my days in uni, about my ongoing projects and, if there will be any, internships.
I'm also a photography lover, so you will probably have to cope with lots of (fashion and not) photography posts.
So...excited? Want to read more? Well, I hope I've tickled your curiosity. If so, keep checking for new posts on this blog.
